(Posted on Wednesday, May 19, 2004 at 10:57 a.m.) In last Monday's episode of Survivor, the Survivors are treated to a breakfast and a Polaroid camera to use for their scrapbook. Crybaby Jenna was challenged by Boston Rob to give up her alliance with Rupert Hagrid. And Jenna thought about it thouroughly. In the immunity challenge. Rupert was close, but Amber beat him to it, and won immunity. So everything might go down to a Purple Rock of Death Scenario where everybody but Amber is vulnerable. So Jenna sided with Boston Rob and Amber, and voted out Rupert. He is faced with the dilemma of going with strategy or heart. But whenever he went he has the dillemma of keeping either Jenna or Amber, but he decided to follow his heart and kept Amber. Their last day in the Pearl Islands was all paradise. They are alone and have nothing to do but finish the scrapbook, and go lovey-dovey. But in Tribal Council became hell. Lex was very mad at what Boston Rob did to him. Alicia and Kathy are very emotional, too. Shii Ann was more trivial. Rupert and Jenna have more focused questions. (I forgot what Big Tom asked them.) Once the votes were cast, we are magically transported to Madison Square Garden, where, to our surprise, Boston Rob proposed to Amber! This meant that even if Amber eventually won Survivor All-Stars, Boston Rob is a millionaire because he has the girl who won it! But there was one consolation for my favorite Rupert Hagrid... he won the second million on a very massive popular vote four days later! Now that's something he deserves. Other awards: Sexiest male: Colby Sexiest female: Amber Best fight: Rupert vs. Jonny Fairplay Worst villain: Johnny Fairplay (booo!) Best Survivor moment: Rupert stealing shoes from the Morgan tribe's raft. The next stop is Vanuatu, where sorcery is real and cannibalism is still practiced. It will start this September. For now, I have to wait for The Amazing Race this July. ![]() Mermaid Fortune Spread screencap taken from Episode 18 of Mermaid Melody Pichi Pichi Pitch Few days before the Survivor finale, I done a Mermaid Fortune Spread on Rupert using Tarot Cards. The card on the top of the middle card was Death (#13), indicating change or literal death. I interpreted that Rupert would be voted off early. In normal editions, the thirteenth person voted off is the fourth placer. And that's what happened to Rupert Hagrid, fourth placer in Survivor All-Stars, whose final-stretch game was killed early by the likes of Boston Rob. As claimed by the Mermaid Princesses with their Mermaid Fortune Cards, how right this spread is. But I didn't do the same spread on Rupert before America's Tribal Council. But that's OK; he's way so popular, he doesn't need the spread anyway. I woke up at 3 o'clock in the morning last Sunday because I had the watch the Eurovision Song Contest to be shown on Television Española Internacional. Isn't TVE nice to air the show on their Europe/Asia feeds? The whole show took over three hours because not only would the 24 songs be performed, but to show how the 36 countries voted (that's the 24 countries with the songs on the final plus the other 12 that were shot out). It was long, but it shows the European audiences preference. The UK's entry did have 29 points this year, but not enough. Norway almost have a big fat goose egg if not for Sweden's votes. It was a toss-up between the songs of Ukraine, Serbia & Montenegro (formerly Yugoslavia), and Greece. Ukraine's very danceable and so is Greece's considering that both are in English (most of the songs are). Serbia & Montenegro's song is sentimental, but I don't understand a word (it's all in Serbian). But Ukraine won, having 210 points! At least, host country Turkey's own song was very cathcy—crazily catchy. I wanna do it, bop! I wanna do it, bop! I wanna do it, bop!... Well, worth the middle of the night broadcast. I usually wake up at 9 on Sunday, so I have three hours more of sleep after that was over. This moment's Galaxy Angels screen shot: Millefeuille: (begging) Please... don't tell me you don't like these apple pies... Ja ne wa! (Posted on Sunday, May 9, 2004 at 08:22 a.m.) I'm not supposed to surf the Net on Sundays as always, but I have to post this because the the Survivor All-Stars finale will be shown tomorrow. So I have to type this comment update now. In last Friday's episode of Survivor, Rupert was trying to scheme against Boston Rob. As he was doing that, Boston Rob was just around the corner. So Boston Rob just gave him the creeps! In the reward challenge was just a replay of most of the challenges. Rupert stumbled on the balance beam. Crybaby Jenna didn't solve her puzzle on time. Big Tom was beaten, and Boston Rob won against his sweetheart Amber. His prize: A BRAND NEW CAR! He would also watch Lord of the Flies with a companion on a built-in drive-in movie. Rather obvious who he would take. But guess what Amber won just by going with him: ANOTHER BRAND NEW CAR! The three left-out survivor must be jealous, especially Boston Rob and Amber got to puck themselves again. The next day, Boston Rob made Big Tom confront Rupert about voting Rob off. And it escalated! Uh-oh! In the immunity challenge, the survivors will play a word puzzle where they must find the names Tagi, Pagong, Ogakor, Kucha, Boran, Samburu, Maraamu, Rotu, Chuay Gahn, Sook Jai, Jaburu, Tambaqui, Drake, Morgan, Mogo Mogo, Chapera, and Saboga. Amber and Boston Rob found all of them, but Rob answered "Chaboga Mogo" first and won immunity. The person Rupert wanted to vote off was immune, so Rupert was on the chopping block, and so are usual suspects Jenna and Amber. But guess who got the boot. SURPRISE! It's Big Tom! And just because he aligned himself with Boston Rob and never challenged him when he got the chance. On election day... Boston Rob and Amber, Crybaby Jenna, and Rupert Hagrid will face each other and be the ultimate All-Star. And a surprise so unexpected it may shock everyone! On Monday, Filipinos get to decided who they want to be president. My alter ego already has bet for each position to be elected. I hope the Filipinos make the right choice, because the future of the Philippines rest on the elected officials. This moment's Galaxy Angels screen shot: A pizza-making robot? Hmmmm. Ja ne wa! (Posted on Wednesday, May 5, 2004 at 11:15 a.m.) In last Friday's episode of Survivor, Shii Ann had the new found courage to fight on. Her first target was against Crybaby Jenna. But Jenna wants Shii Ann out, too! Meanwhile, Rupert Hagrid was a little annoyed by Jenna because he just dumped the fish that he caught and cleaned and cooked only his own. Rupert concluded that he regretted aligning with Jenna in the first place. Then we go to a reward challenge where we get to see the Survivors' loved ones in the flesh for the very first time:
While the others were scheming back in Isla Saboga, the Big Tom and Son and the Brothers Mariano ate pizza and drank beer at Isla Chapera until they are dead drunk! The next morning, the four came back. But Rupert Hagrid offered Big Tom's son and Boston Rob's bro to do some work at camp to let them know what Survivor life is like. In the immunity challenge is a fire/water challenge played in Australia. One has to build fire then has to fill a holed-up bucket to raise the fire and light the cauldron. Boston Rob almost did that, but by the time the fire chamber was raised, there was no fire. Soon, Rob ran out of matches. So were, Jenna, Amber, and Rupert. The chase was now between Shii Ann and Big Tom. But Big Tom cut the chase, lit the fire and won immunity. Shii Ann tried as she might to stay on, but at Tribal Council she was no more. Speaking of which... This moment's Galaxy Angels screen shots: Forte: "What the...!" Millefeuille: "No way!" Mint & Lanhua: "Shii Ann's out??!!??!?!?" ... and Vanilla doesn't care. This Friday: Rupert finally step up to pull the plug on Boston Rob. Hope that works, Hagrid. And next Monday, election day, will also be Survivor Judgement Day. Who will be the ultimate survivor? Ja ne wa! (Posted on Wednesday, April 28, 2004 at 04:11 p.m.) In last Friday's episode of Survivor, Shii Ann knew she was going home because of Kathy leaving. Pretty vulnerable, that the outcome might come in the end. And her degradation was just getting started In the reward challenge, Alicia was pretty annoyed that the Chaboga Mogos told her that she doesn't deserve to be an All-Star, and thought that she was smart. Nonetheless, Rupert wasn't immediately noticed and won the reward: to determine who gets which food. Ruppie got himself some steak, and he let the others choose what they want, leaving Big Tom with the cold potatoes, and Shii Ann a small bowl of rice and ground water from camp. Rupert really savored his reward by drinking (in the words of Alicia) eight or nine glasses of beer, while the others decided to sleep with their heads on the table. After all, as Amber said, they would come back to a camp filled with bugs. The next day, the immunity challenge about standing still. Move one hand and be dowsed with water. Alicia, Amber, Crybaby Jenna, and Big Tom, were the first to be wet. Boston Rob who was to retain his immunity, became wet after an hour. And all because of fly. It became of two-hour stand-off became Rupert and Shii Ann. But Rupert was so tired he became wet in no time, giving Shii Ann something she never won in Thailandimmunity. Because of that, the Great Chapera Alliance had no choice but to vote out one of their own. "Stupid People," Shii Ann said, "or should I say, stupid players!" In the end, Alicia got the boot. (What? No Boston Rob?) As Boston Rob would say to her, "¡Adios! Arrivederci! Sayonara! Or as we say in Boston, 'See ya later!'" Next week: Crybaby Jenna annoys Shii Ann... and Rupert! This moment's Galaxy Angels screen shot: Millefeuille: "Don't blame me! I'm innocent! I didn't do anything wrong!" Ja ne wa! (Posted on Tuesday, April 20, 2004 at 10:04 a.m.) In last Friday's episode of Survivor, we started on a big storm on Chaboga Mogo that washed off their fire and all from night 27 to the morning of day 28. The Survivors were treated to a combined reward/immunity challenge, which puts Kathy on a position to regain it. The prize: letters from home, the for the immune person, a video. We first taken a glimpse of each Survivor's family, especially Crybaby Jenna's. What happened to her back in Palau Tiga in this type of reward challenge is why I called Jenna Lewis that way. On Part 1 of the challenge, the obstacle course, Team A (Alicia, Amber, Shii Ann, and Boston Rob) led over Team B (Rupert, Crybaby Jenna, Big Tom, and Kathy). Although Team B was catching up, Team A won. Part 2 involves solving a puzzle that would release a dagger that would chop off a rope that would raise a flag. Boston Rob won that convicingly to regain immunity and seeing his brother on video. But he decided to give up the video so Team B would also get letters. Later at camp, Kathy schemed to break up the Chapera alliance. But it didn't work, and Kathy was voted off. Are you noticing that I am slowly writing shorter Survivor summaries? Maybe either Survivor All Stars is becoming less interesting or I just bored of writing them. Either way, something exciting should happen! AXN South East Asia has recently reduced their time to three hours per weekday because of the presence of Animax. But the cable company I'm subscribing is currently not carrying Animax at the moment. So the only anime I'm watching on TV aside from those on AXN are Super GALS and Naruto. Pretty boring even for me who has yet to have a job. Although I have some anime VCDs, what kept me from veiwing them are:
This moment's Galaxy Angels screen shot: Millefeuille: "Introducing... Madame Lanhua!" Ja ne wa! (Posted on Wednesday, April 14, 2004 at 04:25 p.m.) We started last Good Friday's Survivor with the red Mogo Mogos worry about Amber and Lex regretting with keeping Amber. When the two tribes went to the first challenge, it was a individual challenge but they're still with two tribes. Rupert Hagrid won that challenge, and he took Crybaby Jenna and Amber with him to paradise. It was paradise well spent where the three had a shower and brushed thier way. They even have a hearty dinner, too. The next day, the merge finally happened, something that actually never happened to Shii Ann back in Thailand. Blue was the color and what used to be Saboga camp is their new home. The name: Chaboga Mogo. (Aww how cute.) What's more, immunity was times two. Kathy won hers single-handedly. Boston Rob narrowly won his from Lex. Both were safe from the vote. Everybody knows Boston Rob plays based on fear so he targeted Lex as a way to say, "Thanks for keeping my girl. Now I don't need you anymore." Kathy did some good theatrics when she said that she would give up her immunity to Lex. But later on, she took back her word and Lex was toast. This Friday: the Survivors get some videos from home, and Kathy goes evil. Now that Lex is in the jury. Let's hope Rupert and Shii Ann to keep on their best behavior, especially that she was in the losing end of her bargain. What did I do last Holy Week? Aside from reflection in a faraway place, I did some strolling, watched some Pichi Pichi Pitch episodes burned on CD, watched RahXephon the movie, etc. No going to the beach; I'm not interested. At least, my five days offline was worth it! This moment's Galaxy Angels screen shot: Obituary: Mint Blanchemange and Vanilla Hache died in the Grace of Our Lord... NOT! Ja ne wa! (Posted on Tuesday, April 6, 2004 at 12:53 p.m.) I'm a little bit unprepared for this one because I'm currently on time pressure to post this. After this, I won't be online from Holy Wednesday until Easter Sunday. My laptop goes with me to the vacation, but the modem stays. That's because where I'm going has no internet access. That's good for this is suppossed to be the time to reflect. At least, Survivor will be shown on Good Friday, at an earlier time. Speaking of which... The tribes expected a merge. What they got instead is suppossedly a shuffle of players. But what happened was a complete switch of tribes, with Mogo Mogos becoming Chaperas, and vice versa. Poor Amber was still with Chapera. She may be reunited with her "mistress" Jerri, but she was separated from her lovebird Boston Rob. The new Chapera may have inherited the old Chapera's lavish digs and rewards (while the new Mogo Mogos the shabby shelter), as it was revealed in the Immunity challenge, they didn't inherit the team spirit Mogo Mogo has in over four challenges. Boston Rob wanted Lex to make sure Amber stays. So he was at a crossroads: would he vote out Amber because she's alone? Or would he vote our Jerri because she was lazy? Later at Tribal Council, Lex, Kathy, and Shii Ann did the right thing: eject Jerri. And ironically enough, Amber was part of it, too! Maybe Big Tom would do the little dance for Jerri as he did for sue. This Good Friday: Boston Rob is still in the dark about Amber. Will he find out that she now safe from harm. And, as announced, a merge will finally take place. Will the red Mogo Mogos get out of the loop? Next update is shortly after Easter. Until then... Ja ne wa! (Posted on Thursday, April 1, 2004 at 11:40 a.m.) I don't have anything new to say... especially that last Thursday's episode of Survivor All-Stars was just a recap episode. Here are the only things new:
For now, here is the clip from Ta Luo Mo Fa Xin, the program I talked about in my article below. It's in 3GPP, so I hope you have either RealOne/RealPlayer or Quicktime with its corresponding codec installed! Ja ne wa! (Posted on Thursday, March 25, 2004 at 05:52 p.m.)
How many TV shows devote one hour for just one Tarot reading session? Certainly not many. But a few months ago, I was channel-surfing through cable TV (while having gripes on my cable company not carrying the all-anime channel Animax) when I discovered a program in Azio TV, or Dong Feng in Chinese, called The Magic Tarot, or Ta Luo Mo Fa Xin in Chinese. It is hosted by Tian Xin, a woman dressed like a white magic practicioner, and Maurice, a famous Tarot card reader in Taiwan. Tian Xin, as I found is actually an actress, which explains her get-up for the show. The show is seen at 9 in the evening every Tuesday to Friday. In each episode, a guest—or group of guests—visit Maurice and be given readings throughout the show. These readings depend on the whim of the guest "Querent" and vary each day. Aside from this are segments on how to use white magic for certain situations, and how certain Tarot cards are linked to the western zodiac, as mentioned by certain celebrities. Here are those cards linked to the zodiac:
The picture at the left is just one half of the picture which mentions everything I talked about, including the set.. I also have a picture of another episode where a third person, an astrologer named Stella, joins in. Notice how Maurice shuffles his deck and lays the cards out. Shortly before a commercial break, there are also Tarot hotlines to call. Here are two examples. A word of warning: This doesn't apply to those outside China, Taiwan, or Hong Kong. Sorry if the pictures are bad. I was thinking of using the same digital camcorder as the one I used to the take the Galaxy Angels screencaps. It was borrowed by someone else, so I used camera phones instead with the TV's brightness set to low. This moment's Galaxy Angels screen shot: Millefeuille, in a stylish dress, under a pile of rubble. Ja ne wa! (Posted on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at 11:36 a.m.)
These are the first eight finalists for American Idol as of last night. I maybe late because the episodes seen here in the Philippines are aired about two weeks after the actual telecast in the States. The performances are aired Thursday nights and the results shows are aired Tuesdays nights on the next week. So tomorrow's broadcast may be the whole or part of the wild card show.On the picture on the right are the eight finalists I am talking about. They are:
For more info, the site is: http://www.idolsonfox.com Ja ne wa! Rob and Amber in love! (Posted on Wednesday, March 24, 2004 at 10:58 a.m.) In last Thursday's episode, we were first treated to Kathy coming home to an empty Mogo Mogo camp. And she had gripes about it. When she was shocked to find that Colby have been voted out, it seemed that the happiest person in the tribe was Jerri, who now outlasted her Outback arch-rival. The next day (Day 20), the tribes sent representatives. Chapera chose Crybaby Jenna by lot, while Mogo Mogo's choice was a no-brainer (Kathy). Kathy chose things that would cover them from the rain, while Jenna chose things that would disable the Mogo Mogo tribe further. The challenge is a log roll, where first to touch the water loses. Although Alicia lost twice to Shii Ann, her tribe still won. Later that night, Jenna took what she chose, two of which are a bag of rice and a Hawaiian sling (from the looks of which is a spear), effectively crippling the Mogo Mogo's food supply. Meanwhile, Boston Rob and Amber finally went kissy-kissy. Boston Rob told us that what he originally formed an alliance with Amber as strictly a voting one. But this one has gone as far as being lovey-dovey. What's the next step, Boston Rob? Marraige? Gimme a break; you're in Survivor! The next morning, Boston Rob, Rupert Hagrid, and Big Tom went out to go fishing. Big Tom watched on as both Rupert and Boston Rob caught lots of fish, which explains the "Aquaman vs. the City Kid from Boston" Rob talked about. Not there'll be competition, there will be after the merge. In the immunity challenge, Jerri was the only one who shot the target using the blowgun. At least four people hit the target with a spear, but Rupert's was the nearest to the bull's eye. In the final round, Boston Rob managed to hit the target just once with a bow-and-arrow (although it was on the outside). Jerri cannot hit a single shot, sending the Mogo Mogo's once again to Tribal Council. Lex told his good friend Ethan that he would be voted out anyway, knowing that Lex's motives are only business and nothing personal. Ethan did not listen and lobbied for Jerri's demise. Unfortunately for him, Kathy and Shii sided with Lex and Ethan was voted off. Now that every single winner and runner-up had left, it is now a virtual free-for-all, and we're sure that in the end, those in the Final Two haven't been to the Final Two the first time. Next time, as the gap between the prosperous Chapera and the impoverished Mogo Mogo widened, another twist comes the tribes' way when they least expect it. It may not be the merge yet, but it may confuse the Survivors even more. That's next Friday (April 2). For tomorrow, we'll recap what happened in the last eight episodes, plus some new footage we haven't seen on TV. For the past few days, I was thinking of shutting down my official e-mail address (and every single connection, including SRS) because it had been overrun by spam. Lucky for me, Yahoo has an option to identify spam and delete them immediately. I may not read them at all, but who cares? I don't expect new mail anyway. This same goes the other e-mail address connected to the Assorted Anime Tarot website. Speaking of SRS, I know the site celebrated its fifth anniversary without any fanfare. And I terribly neglected it. I haven't updated the site since May 2002. I'll try to update it as soon as possible. I even postponed today's visit to a broadcasting company just for any plans and updates. This moment's Galaxy Angels screen shot: Millefeuille and Mint's world has gone swirly. Ja ne wa! (Posted on Tuesday, March 16, 2004 at 11:55 p.m.) In last Friday's episode, we are only treated to just Day 19. We started the day with Jerri whining about her situation. That whining even irritated Shii Ann and Kathy. Later we are treated to a comibination of a reward and an immunity challenge. The winners get to spend a day in a luxury cruise ship. The losers go to Tribal Council and vote out somebody else. Chapera was way ahead, but their paddling enabled Mogo Mogo to steal the lead. Ethan was trying to untie the paddles for the Luigis (remember that red and green remind me of Mario and Luigi), but Boston Rob caught up and stole the lead for the Marios. The Chaperas maintained their lead, and won the challenge. They decided to have Kathy along for the ride. Chapera had their fun time in the ship, playing golf, rod fishing, etc. And of course, they got food, food, and nothing but good food. On observing Chapera, Kathy knew what Mogo Mogo lacks, a time for fun. Meanwhile, the wheeling and scheming went on as Jerri is being led to the chopping block by Colby. But he didn't expect Lex having other plans by putting Jerri and Shii Ann on his side and vote him out. And knowing he is a threat, Shii Ann sided with Lex and Jerri finally gets her revenge on Colby. Next week: Amber and Boston Rob puck'er up! One member of each tribe will visit the other tribe's island, and Boston Rob and Hagrid square off. Uh-Oh! Watch out tomorrow! I should've posted this one yesterday afternoon, if not for my brother using my laptop. That's why I'm posting this at midnight. Gomen! This moment's Galaxy Angels screen shot: Forte: "Maybe this is the bomb that crashed the Twin Towers." Ja ne wa! (Posted on Thursday, March 11, 2004 at 04:38 p.m.) I have to upload the new Galaxy Angels screencaps into my Ripway account last night. I don't know, but Ripway's server must be having a problem as sometimes, their server times up, even if the directory involved is just short. Must be my dial-up. Despite of that, I now have 233 screencaps from the first season of Galaxy Angels alone. Stay tuned... This moment's Galaxy Angels screen shot: Presenting the Angels in their sleeping wear. Ja ne wa! (Posted on Tuesday, March 9, 2004 at 05:11 p.m.) Welcome to the newest layout of my blog, the special royal blue Survivor All-Stars edition, to commemorate the show. This will be up from now until after the finale. You can find the plum edition and other past editions, check out the archives section. A word of warning: the pictures of past editions before the plum edition were offline forever because they're stuck to my former image host. In last Friday's episode, everyone is expected to be relieved that Rich the naked man is gone. Unfortunately, poor Sue had dreams about what happened with Rich. To her point of view, she was sexually harassed in the last immunity challenge, bumping his "hood ornament" on Sue. That went on days on end that her Chapera tribemates are worried about her. Before the Reward Challenge, Sue fumed in anger, and her anger did have something to do with Rich, but because of that incident, she quit. No one stopped her; not even Mogo Mogo's implication about Rich's departure cheered her up because Sue's mind already left the game. So she went. The incident not only made Chapera lose another member, but also lose a stomping Reward Challenge, where kebabs and other knick-knacks are at stake. With Sue's departure, there was no immunity challenge and no tribal council. Just a wacky tribute from Big Tom and Boston Rob, two guys Sue never got along with. On a side note: Colby told Shii Ann about his strategy, something Shii Ann don't have interest about. Jerri's mind focuses on food, to the ire of Kathy. And Lex showed his Mogo Mogo tribemates that he can fish, too! (After all, where would you fish in the African savannah?) Next week, I'm sure there won't be any merge yet as there is still twelve survivors in the game. and I bet the next challenge would involve removing some more extra baggage later on before a merger can take place. Hope Shii Ann doesn't fall into another "merge-non-merge" trap like she did in Thailand.
